I'd definitely keep the 2nd one you described that spends more time with the hens and doesn't show signs of aggression. I think behaviour trumps looks

Those photos are too small to see anything. Can you get some better ones, preferably side profiles, especially?

My computer and my chickens hate me! Anyway, here's the best I could do for a side to side comparison. They both look so different, but I'm certain they're both roos. The hens have round feathers and barely any combs, etc. The small roo has a better pick of his face earlier. I'll keep trying.
