    My husband's friend came over last weekend and was SHOCKED that we eat the eggs we get. He was like "Dont you have to DO something to them?" He really thought you had to bleach them to turn them white before you eat them. He wouldn't take any of the eggs I offered him to take home and try.

    all I took from those responses was GIRL Just kidding- thanks for responding... so you think it is just a non "standard" black copper color? I looked up golden cuckoos and they seem to be lighter- these are really dark coppery lines. "She" is getting copper feathering on the back of her neck...
