This is one of my runners, i have had him for a while and always knew his color was fawn & white. This is my first year showing him, so im not sure if i should enter him as a penciled runner, or AOC runner, what do you think?
You could put them outside now if you want, they will be fine. And if it was possible i would have the chicks stay in a pen so they can SEE the other chickens so then they are kinda used to them
Its not that hard for me, but i also am a hunter. I have been raised that way i guess, its the life cycle, haha. But i ate some of my white rocks because they were aggressive against the other hens, and they started eating eggs, so it was best that they go. Also Cornish Rocks are bred for meat...

I've been going up with it. The problem is they scratch around & throw dirt , pine shavings at least a foot high. If there's something they can eat their gonna find it. I've gone into the coop & there's pine shaving stacked 2 feet high in a pile.
hmmmm, i dont know then, mine don't...
I never have, but i actually just bought a pair today from a show, and i love them!! I think thats the best way to go. But you can check McMurray? they might have them, but im not sure.
Pros:
Pretty
Breeding
Protection of the Flock
Keeps the hens 'in line'
Its nice to have a rooster around
Cons:
Noise (depends on where you live)
Can be mean
My White rocks that i got last spring were a good dual purpose bird. They layed eggs the most frequent, also they tasted really good at 1 year old. The only problem is, that they are very aggresive with the other birds.
Im showing my ducks and chickens at the NYS fair, and My male Pekin won first place & best of breed, there were 15 other Pekins! Im just really excited because thisis my first year showing so im really excited!
Ive never had pheasants but i love my silkies, they are great i have had 5, and love(d) everyone of them. I had one that i brought in the house all the time and she would just sit there while we petted her, she never even went to the bathroom in the house, so i vote silkies
