    Please help!

One of my girls dug her way under part of the coop today. When I came around to check on them this afternoon she was stuck. Now, part of the feathers on her leg are missing, no bloody area, but her bottom area is swollen and there are no feathers. I have never had this happen before and am...

    Flooring material?

These are great responses. Thanks so much. I thought about wood pallets because they are readily available, but I worried about rodents living under them. Has anyone had experience with that? I do use the sweet pdz, but it is very difficult to keep a dirt floor dry! The suggestion of building up...

    Flooring material?

Where do buy the wood chips? We have a Tractor Supply that sells a very large bag of pine shavings. Is that the same thing you use?

    Flooring material?

Right now the hens have a 10x6' run. It is open and does not have an enclosed section for them to sleep at night. They have a roost with a removable poop board underneath, we have very mild weather in winter, but brutal heat in summer, so I have never thought about closing in the roost area...

    Clipping wings???

Your guinea struggle with the wing thing has been interesting to follow. Have you clipped yet? I am a chicken myself and have not done it. I don't know if I ever will, they just won't have as much freedom.

    Clipping wings???

My girls like to take flight! I do not know much about clipping wings. I have seen various clips on the Internet, but still feel like I need more reliable information. What do you do? I cannot have them flying into the alley and the neighbors yard. My girls are quick to greet me for treats, but...

All of my girls have stopped laying!

Thanks to all of you for sharing your advice. We have had three eggs the last two days, although ugh one is very small compared to the other two so I am not sure if it is a new hen laying. Originally I only had three ofnthensix laying, but they were all about the same size. Now I am wondering...

All of my girls have stopped laying!

Forgot, I have been giving them electrolytes in their water so that is good. I do think the move was stressful, hopefully we will get another egg, if not more, tomorrow. Thanks for replying, I am happy to be able to pick someone else's brain!

All of my girls have stopped laying!

Thank you. Today was overcast and we got one egg! This was very exciting since they have not been laying. I have given them frozen fruit, they love it. The veggies frozen are a new idea to me. I love the ease of the Ziplock bag in the freezer. Thanks for responding.

All of my girls have stopped laying!

I am very new to raising chickens so any feedback would be great. I have six RIR hens that I bought March 23. Three of the hens began laying eggs on July 19, and then we gradually had two more hens begin to lay. They have grit and oyster shell, and a high protein feed for layers. I live in...
