They are supposed to hatch this Tuesday the 12th. I have a homemade incubator, and I have been very successful with it so far, but with the summer weather it has been very inconsistent with temperatures.
The temperature in my incubator reached 106 degrees. It was probably at that temperature for a few hours. At this stage the chicks inside are too big to really see in. Do you think they would even still be alive?
Can I grab eggs that my chickens laid and set them on the same day, or should I wait a few days? Also, can i use eggs that I have had sitting in the fridge for a few days already?
I just want to know how tall it should be so that they can't fly over it if it didn't have a top. The place were the coop will be is hidden under trees so we shouldn't have a problem with hawks. I just don't want my chickens flying out of the run.
I currently just order chickens from Meyer's hatchery a few weeks ago. My chickens are getting bigger everyday, so we have started the construction on the chicken coop. How tall should the fencing on the run be? And should it have fencing on top?
