I really need help! My American Buff female is lethargic, is drooling at the mouth, has a really wet pasty bum, breathing hard, depressed, just stands in the corner and does not eat or drink. What should I do???
Hey! I am trying to decide on a breed of geese for our family farm in Ohio. So far I'm sort of narrowed down to the Pilgrim and the Shetland. Which is better? I know that the Shetland is super hardy and forages a lot, but is very rare and hard to find. And then the Pilgrim.... fairly rare...
The vet wrap is a great idea! I'll have to try that:) Ivan is in with her now and they are both much happier. I think my Seb, Olga, is finally drinking and eating again:)
She has angel wing, and she also had two broken blood feathers. She had surgery a week or two ago for the blood feathers, and she healed up quick and started to try and get out of her pen. We let her outside because we were afraid that she would hurt herself. But when we let her outside, and...
Haha yep- the ganders do usually deal with changes better than the geese. We are goin g to try putting Ivan, the other Seb, in with her today. Thank you so much, and I am glad that your goose is getting better:D I really hope that Ivan will make her happier... I hate seeing Olga so sad. Poor...
One of my geese is really depressed because she has to be kept alone in a small pen (she has wing problems and the chickens attack her because of it). What should I do? All she does is cower in the corner and will not eat any food or water. Should I put another bird in there with her?
The broken feathers are pulled and are healing well, but we could not cut them because the last owner had cut the wings down to stumps. Pretty much. We will try the Epsom salt and water solution. Whenever it was really cold outside she would bleed from those two feathers only. She had that...
My young Sebastopol goose is bleeding from the wing tip (she also has Angel Wing), and we think it might be from an infected broken blood feather. I have no pictures, but I want to know if it might be from her angel wing and the cold, or the infected blood feather. How do I fix it? I've heard...
My young Seb has a horrible case of Angel Wing. Sadly, her old owner had chopped up her wings pretty bad. Now her wings are bleeding from the cold. We've tried taping her wings in their normal position and keeping her out of the cold, but she keeps taking the bandage off. We don't know how...
We actually found out that Little Peep is a rooster! The other day he mated my hand And he almost got in a fight with our goose, Jack. And he tried to crow!
He is now a pretty golden rooster (remember he is part Copper Maran!).
Question: Only one wattle is growing. When will the other...
I need help- my two new and very young Sebastapol geese have angel wing. They have it on both wings, and I don't know how to bandage the bird. Their diets are changed, but the Angel wing is really bad. I will get pictures soon.
Please Help!
Hi, BYCers!
It's jadeduck13 again! I need some information about the history of geese. I have to write a paper for my school on what other people know about a certain topic. Sounds weird, I know, but it's all about writing! It would be great for someone to come up and tell me a bit about...
Hello, BYCers!
I need some goose owners to come up and tell me what they think about geese. I am writing a new post for my blog, We Heart Poultry (you might find it under my profile). If you can answer some questions, that would be great! My mission is to get others to raise geese...
