Hi there,
This is an update. We have been caring for Leonardo (the rooster) religiously! Every single day. He is better, but my question is how long should we keep the amoxicillin? It has been 2 weeks now. The feet are better but not fully healed. Should I continue with the meds or just...
I was able to get everything except the amoxicillin, nobody wants to sell without a prescription. Any suggestions? FYI Today I did the first soak, cleaned, and bandaged his feet.
Thank you so much. You are right, the neighbor's place is terrible. Many chickens die there, it is sad. But I've had him for months and have been washing with peroxide and coating with vaseline ever since. My girls have 5.5 acres of clean space and the coop is clean here, I figured he would...
I got a rooster from a neighbor and it has something on both feet. One is worse than the other. It is a Brahma breed, maybe 2 - 3 years old.
We removed a spore when I found a sore, it was bumble foot, but it keeps on coming back and it is getting much worse. Now there is no sore spot. Please...
I was just looking for the same solution. It has been one week we don't get any eggs in my coop with 20 chickens!! So today I am looking to see if I find where they decided to nest outside and atop the shed i can see many eggshells. So whatever it's stealing my eggs is taking them to the roof...
No idea what it is. It grew a lot and looks like stopped. He (or she) is running around like nothing is wrong. Doesn't miss a beat, just can't see from one eye and looks pretty bad.
I will post another picture Thursday. Tomorrow i'm out of town.
Chicken was better with the vitamins, walking with a limp, but now we have a relapse. She is limping again and going back to not being able to walk anymore...
Don't know what to do, any ideas?
Sorry for the lack of info, I'm new at this.
We are in Florida, the baby is about 3 weeks, part silky and part something else... :)
The tumor is growing and one eye is closed. I am going to try and get better pics. It is a fast little baby and mom is very mean!
Out of 7 babies, only 3 are left. Hawk took the others

This baby has a growth on his beak, does anybody know what it is or has any suggestions?
Please help!!!
False alarm. Duck is better today, must have hurt her foot somewhere.
Chicken is also looking better. Thanks for the tips, I guess vitamins are working.
I appreciate your help!! have a great day.
Bad news, one more chicken is limping and one duck. So whatever it is is spreading or they all have the same deficiency. I separated them and all animals are getting vitamins.
Any ideas? I'M SCARED!!!
Thank for the suggestion, I'm going out to get some multi vitamins and let you know what happens.
I hope that's all. With the super dry summer, they are not getting as many veggies and no greens as before and are only getting some layer crumbles, scratch grains, mangoes and some kitchen left...
Thank you for responding. She is a little camera shy and I had a hard time getting these, I hope it helps identify the problem. It escalated since 2 days ago.
Two days ago my chicken started limping. Now her foot is gnarling and she can''t really walk.
What could it be? How can I help her?
Please help, thank you,
They actually were sharing the nest, both sat together and when the first 4 babies were born, the wild one left with them. They would come back at night.
She got kiilled and the chicks are under 3 weeks old. Only 3 left and they sleep with the silkie. The silkie was the last to come into the...
Thank you for answering me. I'm new at this. What do you think happened? Why didn't the eggs hatch?
Will she brood again later? The other two brooders are dead and I love having babies running around.
Hi Folks:
My silky was sharing a nest with another brooder, a wild chicken that lived at the property before we moved in. The wild one hatched 4 chicks and left the nest. She was killed by a bobcat (during the day!!!) and left 3 chicks who are being raised by my only silky rooster (go figure)...
OMG!!! I only saw Overun's response after I moved her.
She didn't sit. The nursery has 5 nests and she was sleeping on the next nest. So in a desperate attempt to save the babies, I moved the eggs to her nest. I will check again tomorrow.
I should have waited longer for some advice!! I...
