It's been like that for two days. Eggsessive, this is our poor hen with the limp. I almost think she's been through enough, though I'd love to see her pull through again, she's my fighter!
I wasn't implying that I thought some kind of penetration had occurred, I merely wondered if the roosters had gotten too aggressive, as they can be irritable sometimes
Can I put the dust in the usual bathing spots so they can "self apply??"
My only worry is that they will inject the powder, as they forage while they bathe
Side question: how do I make other nesting boxes more attractive? 8 girls fighting over 1 box and there are 3!!!
After about a week or so with vitamin water made available to them, the stumbler seems to be doing better. Only really stumbling when she tries to balance on a single leg. She's roosting on the rail where the big girls go at night. She was doing this before and stopped when she started...
I watched her walk- and run this morning. I really feel like the best way to describe it is that she looks like she's trying to pass the "walk the line" DUI test. Make sense?
I have a fairly young hen (March if this year) who has been fine up until now. She keeps stinking and it looks like maybe she has one of her legs (or both) giving out in her. Can't see any visual injuries, didn't see her get hurt or anything either.
Golden lace Wyandotte if that is significant...
Ever since my Buff Orphington started laying, she's had the stuff you see in the photo in her eggs. Most of the time it's just a little reddish brown dot, but as you can see, there is some extra stuff from time to time. Is this normal or of any concern?
As you can she, she's roosting, a and doing so alongside one of the old coop-mates. I isolated the other hen because we have to be out there supervising because she's still going after the poor thing.
The question I had was in regards to the fact that she was hobbling along outside and ranging...
Interestingly, the offending hen is the one who fights back the most when our toy poodle plays with them. My wife thinks she's afraid to lose her spot as the new "alpha chick"
We'll continue with the "exposure therapy"
