My current batch of eggs hatching in my incubator are coming along great. However, one of the chicks that hatched yesterday has a huge swollen eye. I have separated her from all of the other hatchlings, and even tried cleaning the eye with running water in case it was caused by something getting...
I I HIGHLY recommend hardware cloth or similar. I used chicken wire on my 1st quail coop, and a rattlesnake kept sneaking in and killing them. It could not get the quail through the holes, so for the longest time I had a mystery of why my quails heads and necks were hanging out the holes. Quail...
I am in day 29 and no hatches, I realize now that I did not have enough humidity at final stage. I have upped the humidity to 75%. Do any of you experts out there think any of them will still hatch?
We also grow Talapia and one the things we feed them is DUCKWEED. Now that I know chickens can eat it, I am great!
To answer earlier posts about growing it- it's VERY easy. You just need a little to start. Then put it in an aquarium with lots of sunshine (no fish or they will eat before it can...
BOSS question. The only Black Oil Sunflower Seeds I can find are at Walmart and say "added vitamins and nutrients" is this normal? Is that the only BOSS out there?
Is there any safe way to sanitize the sprouts before giving to your chickens? Something to soak them or wash them with that will not be harmful to my flock?
I am currently incubating/hatching 31 eggs. Aug 17 was day 21 and twenty of the eggs hatched through out the day. I have eleven now left and no sound or movement on day 23. How long should I wait till I give up on them?
Newbie to incubating here. I just set up the incubator, got the eggs in and thought I had it set just right for the temp. I came back two hours later, and the temp was at 110. Will this have killed my eggs or so you think they will be ok?
I have a rooster that is becoming VERY aggressive. Attacking my legs every time I go in or near the coop. I push him off with my foot or kick dust at him, but a few moments later he comes back for more. This morning it was non stop. I am at the point where he may become dinner, but he is the...

I get 50lb bags of wheat for $18 to $20 depending on the week from Hancock Seed. I am lucky in the fact that I live about 10 minutes from their farm so I pick it up myself (no shipping fees) but they are online and you can order it.
Can you show me a close up pic of how your water is distributed into the trays?
I have been growing fodder, but doing it all by hand. Very time consuming. I want to make a set up like yours. Does your just apply water to the top trays and it drains down into each lower level, or do you have...
