    Day 21 of my broody hen sitting on eggs. Went to check on her and found one egg open but no chick to be seen anywhere. Any ideas what happened?

    That's probably the best advice I've read. My only concern about the existing eggs she's laying on is that I have no idea how old the eggs are or if I should put a fresh batch under her and start again. Or just leave things as they are and hope for the best. I don't really want to wear her out...
