Thanks, but I thought there may be a problem with this area in my bator yesterday and didn't take the time to block it off, so it really was my fault unfortunately.... Thanks anyway though for your kind words.

Thanks, I'll get better pic later w/out the flash.... The picture...
This chick came out of a medium size, medium brown egg(no speckles). It is a silvery grey, has 4 toes, and hairy legs(a bit of brownish on sides of body... see pic). Any ideas, I don't know any of the breeds I'm hatching really and unfortunately had one little yellow guy die last night because I...
I've been staring at my eggs for about 20-30 minutes a clip(and 3 tylenol) and got lucky enough to see my first pip happen! Now I can relax a bit and just check up on the eggs every few minutes or so!!
Well, I candled the questionable egg again and saw no movement or substantial growth so decided to pick at the shell near the air-cell. As suspected, the embryo died at about day 10(no beak yet). So as of now, 13 of 16 have made it to this point and I can't wait 'til hatch time! The egg-rocking...
I've got 13 mixed variety eggs in my homemade bator that are alive! 2 of the 16 viables didn't make it past the first few days and 1 other I think didn't make it past about a week or so but I left it in for now because I'm only 99.9% sure its gone..... I'd die if I opened it and was mistaken...
"They" say 102 temp in still air measured at top of eggs....., but I agree that around 101 is a safer bet due to incubator temp flucuations and less the chance of having a detrimental spike! Good Luck!!!

THere are other factors to take into consideration on why his eggs didnt hatch in his rcom.... But the incubator hes talking about now is the brinsea..
Danny does not like Brinsea but he can't tell why.
All he says "bad design" and "cheap components" which is bull.
This is...
If you can tweek it to 99.5-plus on one side and keep it near 102 minus on the other side, that should produce good results in a "still-air" bator. Those temps would be taken at approx. top of egg level! Good-Luck
