At the beginning of October I purchased what I was told were two Americauna pullet chicks (they said they were 90% sure they were pullets). I have been keeping them separated from my other chickens until they get a tad bigger but one of them looks different than the other and...
I was worried about irritation as well and I did look into the numbered bands. This isn't just any reg metal wire it's actually wire from my craft supplies, it's used for making bracelettes/ jewelry so it has rounded edges. And I will be rounding the edges that I cut too so they aren't sharp...
Thanks! I can tell them apart, each looks slightly different and have their own personalities. But now that they pretty much have all their feathers my kids have been having troubles so I thought this would help them.
They're def not perfect the metal kept sliding out from under my stamps lol and I still have to curl them and try them on the girls to get the right size. I'm going to get a clamp to hold the metal and try again :-) has anyone else put tags on to tell their chicks apart?
Hi everyone I'm new to BYC and new to raising chickens. I'm not sure how old my chicks are so I was hoping you all could help give me a better guess at an age and a good time to put them outside.
