wonderful! thanks! I'll check out the legs when i get home, i think i was suppose to do that last week :-/
so the GLW are black? will they turn, golden? lol.
well the chicks are one week old, my how they grow! what personalities they already have! building a bigger brooder today, they look a little crammed in the bin they started out in. One thing I learned is the bigger the better!
i am still trying to identify what is what...i know my barred...
well my town says I can't have a rooster. and i was unable to cancel the one i ordered, i have a friend who will take him off my hands. but i'm so bummed. she lives close by and i will probably keep him around until someone complains, i am hoping he will be a nice quiet guy and nobody notices him!
nope, i ordered 13 and got 13.
what i ordered: 2 rir, 2 sussex, 2 barred rock, 2 brahma, 3 glw, 1 ee, 1 jersey giant...
the packing list provided shows what i ordered. unless of course, they made an error...
i will wait a week and take some more pics and post if i can't figure it out by then...
i agree, a load of crap! my 15 yr old twin girls have been eating chicken off the bone at least once a week and are the complete opposite of aggressive and disrespectful!
i got 2 sussex, and i didn't notice off colored legs but i will check them when i get home from work. i got them through mypetchkicken, i was on their site checking out their pics and did a lot of googling yesterday to try and figure it out
thanks! i was trying to look for the fluff under the chin (for the EE) but none of them seem to have that, maybe it's too early. there are three that look similar to the one with the eye liner eyes, but i only ordered one EE and 3 GLW. time will tell, they change so fast.
4/29/2014 my babies arrived!
GL Wyandotte (?) and Barred rock
Brahmas, I can tell by the fuzzy feet :-)
Rhode Island Reds
Not sure what these are yet, spec sussex?
or these???
Gibbs, my Jersey Giant
Out of the 13 I ordered, I can positively identify seven of them. Mostly I ordered...
my chicks arrived yesterday! they're so stinking cute! everyone survived the trip and they took to their new home. i ordered seven different breeds (speckled sussex, barred rock, gl wyandotte, rir, brahmas an easter egger and a jersey giant), some i can decipher, some i cannot. here's some pics...
Well that's our plan in a few years. We are in a rural area but it's considered residential. . Another mile down the road and I wouldn't have this issue. Just not meant to have the roo now...but someday :-)
well it's a nay for the rooster but i was approved for the hens. i'm kinda bummed about the rooster but there's not much i can do.
however i'm super excited for my chicks to come next week! pics will follow :-)
Hi! I'll be getting my chicks shipped next week and I am wondering about the size of the box/container that they will stay in until they go outside. I ordered 12 chicks, is a 30 gallon bin large enough? I think it should be fine to start but I'm concerned when they start to grow...should I do...
Hi all, I am looking to get a rooster and wondering about their temperament and their crow? i have neighbors who aren't interested too much in me having a rooster but these guys are so darn gorgeous i have to have one! i know all roosters crow and there's not much you can do about it, does...
thanks for all the welcomes! the meeting went well but they were not making a decision until after all other cases were heard, and with it being Good Friday I have to wait until Monday to find out the answer. Keeping my fingers crossed and thinking positive thoughts! Who can say no to this...
Me and my girls picked a bunch of different varieties...wyandote, barred rock, rhode island red, sussex, braham, and easter egger. and one rooster, a jersey giant. I've read they are all cold tolerant and with the winter we had this year they need to be!
