Is this a White Rock or a White Leghorn?

It's not really as big as it seems, the pic is a close up.. the hand belongs to a small 5 year old girl. The chick is about a week and a half to two weeks old. Here's another pic: (actually, now I'm beginning to think it does look big but I do not have much experience with chicks. It is...

    My daughter and her chick

Had to share these cute pics. This is the sweetest little chick ever. She (hopefully she!) loves to be held, especially by my 5 year old daughter, Emilie.

    RIR's??

My chicks are a little over a week old, and I can already tell the RIR's have a "bigger" personality, and do seem to bully the white rocks a tad. But, they are also the ones who eagerly jump into my childrens hands and are definitely the favorites.

HELP! Baby chicks are dying! Lost 25 in 2 days

All of this talk about the feed death is frightening to me. My toddler ate some today. What brand of starter did you have?

When can I take my chicks outside for an hour or two?

It's hot out today, a little over 80 degrees. Would it be okay to take the chicks out and let them walk around the yard for a bit? They are a little over a week old. I'll be with them of course.

What is in medicated chick feed (urgent!)

Quote: This makes me feel SO much better! The hospital and even poison control were not sure she needed care. Glad to see others have ate it and survived.

What is in medicated chick feed (urgent!)

The feed store has the original tag. This feed came from "Handy Farms" but she could not make out the ingrediants on the tag. She had bits and pieces of names... E_el_hobapte (can't read the letters where the blanks are) The other is Amprolium. These are supposed to be the medications.

What is in medicated chick feed (urgent!)

That's all it says. I'll go to the feed store we bought it from and see if they have the original bags it came in.

What is in medicated chick feed (urgent!)

we bought a bag, and there are no ingrediants listed, it just says 20% medicated. What exactly is in this? My toddler ate a handful of it. Does this warrant a trip to the hospital because of the medications in the feed?

Chicks act like they are itching.

I am a total newbie when it comes to chicks. I was sort of thrown into a situation where I have to care for them, and am trying my very best but I really do lack knowledge when it comes to these things. So, I have noticed that my chicks (about a week old) have been plucking at themselves, and...

A "newbie" needs help (new pics added)

Ok, I got a better picture of the brown one. His legs are a light brown color, and get darker in the front. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3579/3436060267_2cd8d462ec_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3348/3436071111_912ccb6450_o.jpg

A "newbie" needs help (new pics added)

I was given 4 baby chicks today. I was told they are "barred rocks" and "white rocks". Does that look right? Also, I need guesses for their age. They are extremely fluffy, and one of the white chicks is getting wing feathers. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3588/3436591378_c38ba16d0f_o.jpg...
