I read somewhere (though I've never tried it) that cutting an onion in half and placing it on the soles of the feet overnight covered w/ thick socks would help with fever and infection. Though I don't share your problem with being allergic to most meds, I do prefer home remedies to conventional...
I have 4 children, a 10-yr-old boy, two 8 yr-old girls (half sisters), and a 2-yr-old girl. That being said there are 7 children in my home almost constantly. I often have my 2 nephews (8 & 6) and my 3-yr-old niece when my sister-in-law is at work or school. I take great pride in telling...
I have 7 chicks of varying breeds. I am not 100% sure the gender or the breed of each chick. I got two of them from a Kindergarten hatching experience and five more from Feldman's Farm store. I am almost positive they are all females. I think 2 are White Rock chickens, 3 may be Black Sex Link...

I have 7 chicks now. I am attempting to keep them calm and able to be handled by holding them close and petting them every night. I know as a kid, my dad had chickens and I just made sure to handle them every day. My dad's chickens would allow me to walk right up and pet them.
