I just had a vet come out and confirm it was Marecks. She was put down and they took her with them. She was around my newest chick so we shall see if it was passed on. The vet said I would know for sure in 2 weeks. I hope I get lucky though. We sure will miss our Pearl girl.
I had a hen attacked once. She had horrible open wounds all over. I immediately soaked her in an antibacterial bath, I used dish soap. I packed the wounds with neosporin (non pain reliever) kept her in a dog cage away from the others and repeated this process everyday to every few days(the...
I don't believe she was vaccinated. I have been giving her a scrambled egg but will try the NurtriDrench. I do have her separated. She did seem to be limping but I don't see any noticeable injury. Thanks for the advice.
I have a approx 4.5-6 month old blue laced red wyandotte hen that I noticed was stumbling, lethargic and appears to have a good amount of weight loss. The older girls started being way more aggressive and she fell over when they pecked at her which is how I started to notice she seemed off. I...
I got this hen about a month and a half ago. I was told she was about 8 months old and a RIR. She has yet to lay any eggs. She has had this problem since I brought her home. Under her vent gets poop stuck all the time and I have to soak it off. It is under her vent and appears swollen or...
Some told me that after a day or so if they look like they are healing dont flush anymore just keep up with the neospori. And I did and she did great. I wouldnt force anything yet. It is traumatized as it is. Maybe if she starts acting lethargic and such. They are unbelievable things that...
My girl also got attacked a few months ago by a possum. She had a deep puncture wound and her butt end had deep bites out of her. We soaked her in warm water and dawn. Then applied hydrogen peroxide and packed her wounds with neosporin. I only washed/soaked 2xs and put neosporin on 2xs a day...
I aquired a new chicken a few months ago. She is perhaps a RIR and about 8 to 9 months old. She has had this problems since the day she got here. I thought her butt was wet due to the recent rain we had had on the day she came. I have already soaked her numerous times. What is this and how...

I took these first thing this morning. I gave her a warm antibacterial soap bath....she loved that. Flushed everything with hydrogen peroxide and the applied an antibacterial cream. She is now in a dog cage in the garage. I did get her to gobble down some blueberries...which I...
Also, i put her back in the coop with her sister because I have no place to keep her inside. Not the most ideal I know. I am just so nervous about ants getting back on her.
