That's what I said above but is that 100%??
I feel like it's my fault. And I caused it??
I dont know if I messed up trying to save her. she was extremely reactive when even touching the area and trying to figure anything out...
Has anyone lost their chicken to prolapse? I had a three year old chicken, Easter egger. Noticed today she had an pretty bad prolapse.
My husband and I both tried to save her... but, unfortunately every time we gently pushed it back in, she started to gasp for air like something was...
I had a chicken with this exact issue. Poop and everything. I forced her to eat and drink, constantly bugged her. She got over it and is still alive a year later. I have no idea what was wrong.
How's It going? Did you talk to your neighbor, yet? I am the same way as you with confrontation. I have a neighbor that their German shepherd gets loose about once or twice a week. He's very excitable and curious. Makes me very nervous for my chickens when I let them out even though I have...
Can i just use the powder? Or do I have to use a spray, too? Also.. can you get that anywhere? Like tractor supply, etc
And wait, de can do that? I always sprinkle it in their sand. Is that bad?
I'm open to suggestions for anything. I currently don't have any bug problems but whenever the...
I bathe my chickens after I do that and change the coop. But I am aware it is not for everyone to use on their own chickens nor is it a type of dust some people are comfortable using.
I love Sevin dust. I used it when I had a lice infestion with my chickens. Got rid of every last one of them when I did it twice for two weeks. I now do it once before winter starts and right after spring starts. Haven't had any issues with lice or mites since I've been doing it. We're very...
I am shocked the bird wasn't dead.. lol. I had to carry my 2 yr old while being 7 months pregnant while herding all my chickens back into the coop because a bird similar to yours was in my roof run and all of my chickens were trying to peck it to death.. Your chickens are much nicer than mine...
Frustrating. I have a neighbor who feeds stray animals of any kind (deer and cats are their favorite). So now I have A LOT of stray cats (not even exaggerating here. Over 5.) that live in my yard and go over to my neighbors for food. Every time they sit there and stare at my chickens or walk...
I had some garder snakes that would creep around my chicken coop. My bantam chickens saw them, got very curious then tried to attack it and peck the heck out of the snake even when it was attacking back. Never have I seen snakes again, since then.
I have some brahmas that are pretty fearless...
@justplainbatty Thank you!! I'm glad someone gets how bad the snow is right now. Sevin dust 5% is OK for chickens right? I was very careful to keep it away from their heads / mouth / eyes when I was even doing the DE and having their chickens doors open the whole time while I was dusting...
Hey y'all. I own about 9 chickens. 2 Bantams, 1 Amercuana, and 6 Silkies. I live in a winter tundra right now where I live in New York with below freezing weather for the past few months.
My Silkies were loosing feathers on their heads lightly which I had thought was from boredom so I would...
I have six Silkies that I have raised from when they were little chicks. They will be 7 months old November 15th. I still do not who is a hen nor rooster but I get 5 eggs a day for about 2 months now.
Now... something happened that was not normal for me. Today, as I was cleaning out my coop...
