    Dutch doors on run

    Dutch doors on run

I've been having a terrible time keeping my dogs out of my chicken feed (inside my run). So my hubs had a brilliant idea (I thought it was brilliant anyway) and made a Dutch door to solve the problem. So we could just open the top part of the door for the chickens to fly in and...

You don't have to wait until they are full sized hens. I started giving mine meal worms at about 11 weeks. They love them!

    New baby chick

Hi! So, my white leg horn went broody and I put some eggs under her that I got from a friend (I don't have a rooster) sure enough one hatched yesterday. Yay! Oh no!!! Please tell me you're joking. Do you know if they are typically mean when they get older? I had to get rid of my last rooster (Buff Orpington) because he got really mean close to a year old.

    Odd Beak

I wish I could attach an image but can figure out how to do it from my phone. It's almost like her lower beak goes to the right side while the top beak goes to the left side. It feels very loose when I move it and will not stay closed. I will try to upload a pic when I can. Thanks!

    Odd Beak

I have an 11 week old chick and just noticed her beak appears to be off center. It was not like that yesterday. I almost feels as if her jaw is broken. Her beak is not "scissored" or "curled" it is just more to one side and her mouth will not close all the way. Any suggestions? Thanks in...
