I've been having a terrible time keeping my dogs out of my chicken feed (inside my run). So my hubs had a brilliant idea (I thought it was brilliant anyway) and made a Dutch door to solve the problem. So we could just open the top part of the door for the chickens to fly in and out...except...they don't seem to know how to do that. It's only been a day. Will they figure this out on their own or do I need to make a ladder for them? Any advice is very appreciated.

@dansanddogs , 3 feet high should be OK with a platform to land on. Chickens hate flying over something when they can't see the other side. So this way they could scope it out.
Some heavier chickens may prefer a ramp or ladder; might be safer for these chickens to prevent injury.
