    Sussex....yay or nay?

We bought these guys as little baby chicks labeled "speckled sussex"...and now we're wondering if that's true or not?!?

    Is this an Araucana?

She's pretty and we have about nine more just like her...wondering if they're Araucanas? That's how they were labeled when we bought them.

Question on breed: red hens & white hens

Just bought five gorgeous hens from a girl who said they were "red pullet/RIR hens" and white leghorns. I've got a pair of white leghorns, and thought these girls are a bit big to be that...also, I've only spotted what I THINK is a white ear on one of them. So far, I've had only two brown eggs...

Is this a Dorking pair...hen and rooster? Or two roos?

We were told they were both roosters...but we suspect that the little one is a hen? Do the fine folks at BYC agree or disagree?

    Is this a leghorn?

They've got the larger combs than the other white ones I've thought were leghorns, that's one check. They've got the white earlobes ya'll have told me to look for...that's another check. They're white (a little dirty from their dirt bathing) but generally white...check numero tres. Their legs...

Is my polish rooster a rooster??

Boy means 'yay'!! He's exactly what I was looking for in a polish!! I just wasn't patient enough to wait and see if he started to act like a rooster. So I came here instead. :)

    Silkie..hens or roosters?

Yay on the white silkies being a trio!! Unfortunately, I can't get any more pics of the gray one as he doesn't live with me. But here's another shot I already had on my phone:

    Lavender pair....are they pure bred?

Excuse me...sorry to not be specific enough. I knew that there could be lavender anything; but I assumed that they were orpingtons. I wasn't sure if they looked full enough to be orpington or not...if not, what breed do you think they are? They didn't come as a pair, I got them separately, and...

    Is this a leghorn?

Thank you both...I haven't had her for a whole day yet, so not sure what color her eggs are. If she's not a Leghorn, what other breeds could she be? Are there any telltale signs for those?

    Is this a leghorn?

We know she's a good layer...and therefore a hen; but is she a leghorn?

Is my polish rooster a rooster??

I realize it's probably hard to tell from the pics...but can you see enough to say if my polish is a rooster?

    Lavender pair....are they pure bred?

Do these guys look like pure bred lavenders?

    Silkie..hens or roosters?

Bought the 3 white ones as a breeding trio...did I get what I paid for? 2 hens and a rooster: I'm suspecting that this one is a rooster; but I wanted the experts to chime in and let me know:

    Taking Animals in Georgia:)

Well...I can definitely part with 2 of Barred Rock roosters if you're interested. And would be happy to start you off with a couple Pekin duck babies or hatching eggs. And if you find yourself in the Clay County area, there's an auction there on Friday night at 7 pm..and one in Eclectic, AL on...

    Taking Animals in Georgia:)

I have some RIR roosters; but they're not purebred...they came from our Ameraucana rooster bred to our RIR hens. They're cutie pies (around the same age as the Barred Rock roosters). We hatched the Ameraucana/RIR & bought the Barreds. We are in Alabama...about an hour from Columbus....we have...
