That's pretty cool. Only thing I can see though is that with all that, it's easier just to buy a simple unit to control everything. Here is one that you can just slap into a wooden box and basicley walk away.

So far the best feeder I have made was of 2" PVC with about an inch cut out of it. Makes the feed kind of curl into its self. But this feeder only works if you have a through fence feeding system. otherwise they can just get in it and kick it out. But if your cage is outdoor you have to compete...
No it's the hot water tank thermostat it's what attaches to the outside of the tank you just have to wire the lightbulb into it there is tons of tutorials on YouTube that can show you how to do it but your temperature problem is because you don't have a thermostat
Well there is 80% of your temperature controlling issue you can get away with a mechanical thermostat for a hot water tank at Home Depot for about seven dollars and that is probably your best bet but you have to be familiar with electrical work
Humidity is fine... I hatch at 16% so you're doing ok. Go to walmart or wallgreens and buy the internal thermometer. one they use on babies foreheads, check your egg temp that way, also place more than one thermometer in. Another thing is how is your air flow direction? Straight across or is it...
Is it just me or is there a suicide gene in Cots, I've been watching all my batches each time I hatch and it seems that I have the gene. 1 out of 40 birds always commits suicide after 8 weeks. I've been writing it down each time and for the last 6 hatches they have all had 1 or 2 commit suicide...
You would be better if the swing was between 100.6 and 99.7... getting below 99 during the first 10 days in not in the eggs best interest, you may want to wrap a blanket around the incubator or something to stabilize the temperature.

This is a good cheap and reliable one. pretty small. I use two of these until I stablize the temp. (i don't pay attention to humidity anymore but for...
I always drop the temp down to about 97.5 to 98.5 on hatch day. But if they died within that short of time I would point to fluctuating temperature during incubation or bad genetics. Mortality is high for the first 4 days in my experience, but if they are up and running within 2 hours from...
@dc3085 yeah it was 35g when I weighed it, but they had pecked a hole so it could of been 40 because it was missing some whites... Seriously though defiantly had to make a video on it....
That's a big one alright, I will be posting later tonight. I found a chicken sized egg inside my quail hutch.... ended up weighing 34 or 35g... had 1 yoke inside and full size egg and a yoke inside that... But I will defiantly post it tonight sometime.
