I am offering for sale 12 English Chocolate Orpington Hatching Eggs.
All eggs are from my personal flock, and are gathered twice daily. They will be turned several times a day, while awaiting shipment. I am currently getting 12 to 16 eggs a day, so I will not ship eggs, older than 2 days old...

I have 12 English Chocolate Orpington Bantam chicks for auction. They hatched on March, 08 2015.
These are true chocolates, and breed true to color. I have included pictures of a hen and rooster, to...
That is weird. It sounds like you are doing things right, My dad raised coturnix quail years back, and they are normally active layers. Where you live, I would think they would be really chucking out the eggs. I think you would be better off going with a game bird feed if you can find it...
coturnix quail generally start laying at 8 weeks, so I doubt it is a winter issue, since they haven't been laying for over 2 months. The things I would look at are: Are they getting enough light? Ideally 10 to 12 hours. If you have them inside, maybe they aren't getting enough light. What...
I would first check the accuracy of your digital hygrometer. It probably is wrong. As far as lowering humidity, it depends on your incubator. To lower humidity you have to reduce the surface area of the water. For instance, if you have one reservoir, filling it half full shouldn't affect the...
I think chickens, like all animals, truly believe the grass is greener on the other side. If you put them in a 4 foot fence without a top they will fly over. I have 6 foot pens, and I have birds fly out on a regular basis. Some breeds are less likely than others, but they all will do it...

Well thank you for taking the time to answer. I didn't mean to sound like I didn't take care of my birds, I have enough money invested in them, I hope they all live long happy lives. I just know that government can get a little ridiculous at times. Like you said, it is normally people...

It is my understanding, you only have to have new birds tested if you buy from someone that isn't NPIP certified. Is that correct? Also I think you can take a course for $35 to become a certified tester, to get around that problem. My big concern is, with everything government, that...
I am new here to BYC, and had an OK specific question, that I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on.
I am thinking about getting NPIP certified, to me legal to ship eggs, and I was wondering if anyone has went through the process here in OK? Is it really only $5, or are there...
No problem. Do you know you don't have to have the humidity pail to use your incubator? You can set any old pan in the top shelf of the incubator and fill it with water. You have to check it every couple of days, but you will still get chicks. Don't get me wrong the buckets are nice. You...
I always give any unhatched a eggs a few extra days, in hopes that they will hatch. 21 days is a guideline, but not uncommon for them to hatch a day or two late or early.for that mater. A lot depends on your temp. If you are off even a small amount it can affect hatch time. Be sure and listen...
You might double check your temp and humidity. Have you had any thunderstorms over the last couple of weeks? Sometimes loud thunder will bust the small blood vessels in young embryos.
To check if an egg is fertile, you have to crack it open. You will see a white circle on the yoke. I don't think that is your problem though. I have ameraucanas and they are my least favorite egg to candle. If they weren't fertile, they would look just like they did the first time you candled...
You will get different answers on that. 2 roosters will cover 15 hens, but you might want 3 if you go more than that. It really depends on your pen size. Sometimes too many roosters is worse than not enough. They spend more time fighting than breeding. I would start with 2 and if you are...
If you want pure breed chicks, you can't have different types of roosters in the same pen. The only way to keep 2 different breeds pure, is to keep them separate. Roosters have no preference of what breed of hen they are mating with. You can stick with the Maran rooster and all of your Marans...
Thank you everyone for the advice. I think I need to frame the walls out, and then just work with the rafters until it makes since to me. I think it is one of those things that will make more since when I have the piece of wood in front of me, and walls to fit it to. I have thought about using...
You could make something like this but a little smaller for duck eggs. I hatch my duck eggs standing up, and haven't had any problems but all I have ever hatched was Muscovys.
