    What did my hen lay???

My hen has been acting a bit off today. She's a bit lethargic....almost weak. She's up and moving, eating and drinking. She's moving slow and laying in weird places or standing in one spot for longer periods of time. I brought her inside, gave her an Epsom salt soak, some egg and yogurt mixed...

    Ameraucanas?

I have one that is a beautiful smokey grey with those traits and one that is a brown, tan, black mix with those traits. Of course at the feed store they were labeled ameraucanas, but I figured only time would tell.

How are duckins in the winter?

I meant ducks. This is my first time with a duck...I've read a few things, but I always have more questions. We have a great shelter that we made for our chickens for the winter...so I think she'll be fine.

    Handling chickens

I have always handled my chicks. When they're chicks, they are much more timid. But as adults, most of mine don't bolt....they usually come running to me...sometimes I even joke that I'm the pied piper of chickens! They even peck me for attention and scratches. It just takes time.

Best material for the bottom of your coop?

I laid linoleum down in the bottom of my coop and then I usually use cardboard, because it's easy clean up....any other suggestions? I don't have a large coop...custom built.
