Do you happen to have an idea on breed, based on the breeds I mentioned, Australorp, New Hampshire Sussex, Black and White Leghorn or Lohmanns.

Thanks so much. I love him. He is so beautiful. Just so you know and have a better understanding, this bird along with 6 others, cone from a company here in Adelaide Australia, called Henny Penny Hatchings, a company that is hired by schools, aged facilities etc to come with a portable...

    New DIY Coop

I don’t plan on keeping them locked to that one area. I have a huge back yard. But while at work it’s enough. I eventually plan to extend so they can free range.

    New DIY Coop

Perhaps I could use the plywood panels as you speak of and also use roofing panels slightly slanted above house so it has a run off and drainage. I’m just trying to save money where I can so the only part that costs me out of pocket is the wire fencing to keep them in

    New DIY Coop

I realise that roofing panels can get hot but I fo plan on having adequate ventilation. My first flock I had, their chook house was a galvanised garden shed with a run added. I really want to use galvanised panels rather than wood for ease of taking apart, should I need to move. Easy to take...

I’m a vegan. I will never kill those birds. I have already got somewhere lined up to take them but will wait until they a little older. But killing. Nope that won’t happen.

    Sitting area

Hi, Was wondering if anyone enjoys sitting with their chickens, like a spot in the chicken area where you go and sit to be amongst your birds. Does anyone have any photos they can share. Would love to see other peoples ideas.

Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Hi, Adelaide here. Just started a new flock. I used to have 7 chickens, 2 ended up being roosters, they were so beautiful and 2 Muscovy ducks. I ended up rehoming the entirety of my birds because I was moving house and just could not find anywhere that would let me keep ALL my birds. I loved...

What about canned veggies and well drained canned beans? Are canned beans considered raw? Or are they ok to give?
