Thanks guys... After a nice long soak in some water it seems as tho most the prob was prob just prolonged time in wet bedding... We were able to scrape most of the crud off w out any bleeding... We put neosporin and some wrap on everyone who needed a scraping just to be sure... I think they're...

Last week I noticed that our little brood had outgrown their feeder so I put the long metal type feeder in with them as a supplement. I had used it before with much smaller chicks and had some foot injuries but assumed that since these guys are quite a bit older that it wouldn't...

Nope, its just a box with pine shavings. My best guess is that the little ones are hurting them. When I go say hi them they usually all freak out and huddle together.
I don't think so... I have them in a large cardboard box with pine shavings, they just have the standard plastic waters and metal trough feeder in there... I was concerned that the metal feeder could be hurting them so I literally just got a plastic one to replace it. I have my doubts though...

I feel terrible not noticing this before but 3 of my welsummer chicks are having problems. We have them in a brooder with about 20 other younger chicks... could the younger chicks be hurting them? I feel like their brooder is clean but maybe it needs to be more clean?
