How is your coop and run designed? largest hole in my coop is 3/8"x3/8" and I have lucabon panel dug in 18" around the entire area. I used mostly scraps from jobsites so the total cost of my coop and run was around 100 dollars. With that said I've had a coyote and raccoons try to get in without...

Ty I will get 2 then. They seemed to develope to 25 days and suddenly stopped. I had another male that was pestering all my females and I suspect he might of been the cause. I sold him but apparently not quick enough.

I have a dead nest of about 20 eggs and the female still sitting on it. She's been on it for 40 days now and I was curious the proper procedure to take so she doesn't completely hate me. My buddy has day old ducklings and I was wondering if it was possible to give her one. Will she reject it or...

I'm up to 5 nests now and 5 broody girls. My smallest nest has 17 eggs largest has 25. I know 25 is a lot but they seem to be covered and the incubator is full. With 6 girls i'm already around 175 eggs so i'm sure i'll be over 50+ per girl by end of season.

He is close to 15 pounds but except for mating he has been very sweet to his females. You make a good point but I was hoping this might not be a huge issue.

Hi everyone I'm from Branford and was curious if anyone might have a couple khaki Campbell drams of laying age for sale locally. I might be interested in another prolific layer as well. They will be housed with 1 very large Muscovy drake and 6 Muscovy drams.

Thank you very much for the info. I'm up to 7 eggs in 3 days in three nest locations so it is very exciting :-) . Is it ok that the 3 nests are only 3 feet apart from each other? My drams get along quite well so i'm guessing it should be fine.

Hi everyone, I have a couple quick questions. My drams have just started laying and i'm up to 4 eggs in 2 days. Is it better to collect the eggs or just allow them to stay where they are laying? The 5 day forecast shows for day time temps up to 61 degrees and night temps as low as 37. Is it...

If you drive the fox 30 minutes away it should be far enough away not to find it's way back. The one I caught was quite terrified and not incredibly aggressive probably because of my dog. I put a sheet over the trap and the drive was pretty easy. letting it go wasn't an issue either it ran out...

Hey Buck I might be of assistance in catching your killer. Dipping marshmallows in honey is a bait raccoons can't resist and can smell for quite a ways. I've caught several in our have a heart trap this way. If a fox is your issues try a fresh caught fish with a slit belly. Foxes can usually...

Ok this might be a gross question then. Are worms still healthy if I boiled them first? Also are minnows and crabs at least safe for a natural source of protein. I also have millions of marsh snails I can feed them.

Thanks for the ideas Buck. With a lot of patience I was able to get one of the females to nibble a bit of kale out of my hands. Seeing as the compost pile no longer has a foot of ice over it I can finally start collecting worms a few times a week. I fish a ton so I might use fish heads for black...

haha ty I actually memorized most of that list before even building my duck house. I'm fully aware of the dangers of bread but I was unaware they were eating bread until I actually picked them up. I was more worried that they are addicted to a poor diet. One female did try the kale I floated in...

Should I let them get a bit hungry first? I have plenty of other greens they can try as well. The seem to dislike carrot mash as well

Hello everyone I'm brand new to owning muscovy ducks. I have a question about feeding. I picked up 2 drakes and 6 hens last Sunday and they all seem extremely healthy. The problem I'm having is they seemed to have been raised on white bread and junk food all winter. I have an abundance of kale...

Anyone know anything about growing grapes?

Prune them back to just the main vines. They need pruning every year just at the end of winter. Spray with an organic anti fungal treatment and mulch well. Should clear up the issues. Oh and try not to prune more than 50% of the vines. That might throw them into shock.
