i have been looking to see if anyone have said how long dose quails need to be in the incubater after hatching i have 3 so far that hatch today. my first time useing a 1502 sportsman.
had 6 so far 1 did not make it. still have 12 eggs in, tomorrow will be day 3.
I am in hemet too. i have some RIR and barred rocks and 2 orpingtons, i would like to meet more people in hemet. I have a 1502 sports man incubator so i will start to hatch all kind of breeds of chickens. its going to be lots of fun.
I have 1 week old chicks. They are in a 95 degree environment and I plan to decrease the temp. by 5 degrees each week.
But how old do they need to be before they don't need to be in the temperature controlled environment anymore?
As far as a predator digging under, I have a couple ideas.
1. Bury concrete blocks, boards, plywood or metal sheets around the coop.
2. My wife had the idea to attach a piece of 3-4 feet deep wire to the bottom of the coop and just lay it flat on the ground. I would probably burry the end so...
