    When I found this the shaving around it were wet so I'm thinking the wet park was yolk. No shavings in it. I have 4 new layers so not sure if it's one of them or my other ones.

    Yesterday I hosed down the run twice and freshened up their water twice. Today I bought and installed a mister hose and gave them a half water melon. That must've helped cause 2 in my new flock laid their 1st eggs.

    Whats the longest an EE takes to start laying?

    I have 4 20 week old and 2 19 week old EE's we got our 1st egg yesterday just not sure which one it's from all but one is pretty red and a few are squatting. We also have a couple of other breeds the same age so it may have been from them too.

    15 week old EE started practice egg song

    late this afternoon one of my almost 16 week old EE started doing a practice egg song, at the same time one of my laying hens in a sepetate coop was laying and singing the egg song. Is this normal for this young or is it just playing parrot and copying what it was hearing?

    When do EE normally start to lay!?

    That's what I thought I'm thinking when we got them they weren't as old as the seller said. Supposedly they were 17 wks old but now that we're raising a new flock of chicks I'm thinking they were more around 8-10 weeks old
