Well that makes sense. They weren't from a hatchery but a well known breeder in our country! We were told the left duck was a gold phase and right a silver phase. The drake was from the same hatchery but he's not ours. If I remember correctly maybe his colours weren't as striking as the photos...
We have 2 females WH, lovely little things and lay brilliant sized eggs.
We borrowed a WH drake and incubated the egg. The baby is now 8 months but doesn't look like a WH...any ideas why not? The 'duckling' is in the middle.
Thanks.
I know this is an old thread but I think you have just sorted my Brinsea. Had 2 very poor hatches, hope this works now. Thermometer temp has raised to a perfect 37.5 now. Thanks.
Thank you very much for your reply. The foot is unable to go flat, I'm just able to make straight but not that extra 90 degrees to make the foot flat. I hope I'm explaining myself properly here.
I'm just going to have a good look at that site now.
I've just been reading about niacin, will...
First time hatching ducks and for some reason they were very late hatching...5 days late!
All four are ok but one has a twisted foot, what can I do to help him? Hate seeing him like this. We will be keeping him but would also like to help him as much as possible too.
Any advice would be...
Very true ^^^
I think I've decided on a brinsea 20 octagon advance automatic.
It is over my ideal budget but hey I think it will do the job and what I need. What put me off the smaller brinsea is you can put goose eggs in there and I would love to give geese a go later in the year.
Thanks for your reply. Maybe I should bite the bullet and go for a brinsea.
Which brinsea would you all recommend? I'm slightly tempted to get 2 smaller ones rather than one that holds 20, as we would be able to incubate ducks and hen eggs the same time then.
What do you all think? :)
I'm looking to buy an incubator next week, but I'm really not sure what to buy within budget. I want it to hold about 20+ eggs and it must be an automatic.
I'm within the UK and will be hatching welsh harlequins and RIR to start with. (Not the same time)
What do you recommend and where should...
Thank you very much for the link...I hadn't seen that. There is so much information there.
Does anyone know where I can buy a sour crop bra from? I'm in the UK.
Thanks.
We have a Columbian blacktail hen that's been ill for nearly 3 months now.
It started when she had impacted crop, after treating this with red wine, olive oil, acv and yogurt we managed to get rid of it.
Since then she's had sour crop and we can't get rid of it. Every morning we make her go...
