    Building a Chicken Sling??

Still working on saving my Silkie roo, and he is making slow improvements. He is moving some one his own, but still doesn't have the strength to move his legs. I want to build him a sling, but not sure of the best way to do it. Any help would be great! This is a picture of him from last night...

Update on my Silkie Roo, David Crowie.

Thank you! I will definitely look at the slings, and keep an eye on him. He is staying indoors until he recovers, of course.

    Overdose on Nutri-drench??

Thank you! He is doing better after I treated him for lice today. I didn't worm him as his poop became regular again. And he is eating again. I do work with him, too. :)

Update on my Silkie Roo, David Crowie.

So, I want to apologize for not commenting more yesterday and today on my other thread. It's been a crazy hectic couple of days. I figured out what the problem was! It WAS lice. I looked him over again good this morning because he just wasn't getting better. He was worse, in fact. Lo and...

    Overdose on Nutri-drench??

Thank you! The weather has been cold, but not that wet. I have him and two other Silkies in a pen to themselves. I also have a larger flock of "regular" chickens, as well as goats and ducks. But, they don't have any direct access to my silkies. No new chickens since I got the Silkies in June...

    Overdose on Nutri-drench??

I don't vaccinate; only give medicated feed as hatchlings and juveniles.

    Overdose on Nutri-drench??

Thanks!! He is about 9 months old. No bullying as he is the head of the flock. I have him, another silkie roo and a hen by themselves in their own separate pen away from my "regular" chickens. THey have been together since day one and all get along great. I feed layer feed regularly, and up...

    Overdose on Nutri-drench??

I have been talking to some ladies on a chicken page on FB, too. He is off balance, no bloody stool, though. He is eating ok. I have been giving him eggs with electrolytes mixed with water. Yesterday, he could kinda hobble on one leg, but today, he can't stand at all. But, he is still eating, so...

    Overdose on Nutri-drench??

I have a Silkie roo who is down with a vitamin deficiency. I have given him B12 and Nutri-drench. But, I misread the dosage amount and gave him way too much. He is 2 lbs. I gave him 3 cc's. Can he overdose?? Kinda freakin out here.

    What happened to my duck??

That's just it....her neck wash't really limp. I mean, she was laying it forward when I was holding her, but when I laid her down in the tub, she was alert. Holding her head up and looking around. That's why I thought she would pull through. I didn't see any bite marks on her anywhere, but I...

    What happened to my duck??

I have no pictures, but here's the story. My husband and I were gone for a couple of days. We had family here to care for all of my animals. All was good. Everyone acting normally. We get home last night, and my son brings in one of my young hens. He said he almost fell over her and she didn't...

    Blood in chick's poo??

I have been raising/hatching chicks for over two years now. I have never had an issue before. I have always used medicated feed, but I now I think I may be dealing with Cocci?? I noticed a tinge of blood in a couple of poo spots in my chicks' outdoor brooder this morning. Should I treat for...

    Mixed duck flock?

I have three mature ducks, all different breeds. A Mallard drake, Muscovy hen, and a Blue Swedish hen. They all get along great! Ducks really aren't picky when it comes to breed. Once they figure out which one is the dominate, it's smooth sailing. lol

    RIR/White EE cross question...

Ahhh...ok. Yeah I used to have an OE and her eggs were a deep green...like the color of an actual olive. My EE's lay, I guess, a medium-blue egg? But on the bright side, one of the EE's I just hatched was the last egg my gray and black EE layed before she was killed. So here's hoping it's a hen!!

    RIR/White EE cross question...

So I have a RIR roo and two white and brown (mostly white) EE hens. I am hatching some of their fertilized eggs out (two have pipped today). What are the chances I will get an Olive Egger out of this?? Would love to have another OE in my flock!
