It's been a bit rainy here so they're a little dirty but these two lovebirds decided they would give me a nice pose together. Valentino always loves to strut his stuff
It's still so hard to tell with lav ameraucanas until they are much older but I would say that bird #4 is a male by the comb, I would repost pics again in a week or so. :)
Thanks Chooks man. Sorry for the delayed reply, I will try to get a pic up close of her face tomorrow. I wonder if it's something that she might grow out of since she's still growing or if itll be there still after she matures.
Hi all, new to this thread. I was curious as to what you think of my BCM pullet. She is about 16-18weeks now. I got her from a breeder who says her eggs should be a solid 7 or darker. Thanks for any input.
Can any breeders or anyone who's familiar with the breed standard tell me what quality of a pair I have here of my FBCMs. They are around 15 weeks. Thank you!
My guess is pullet! I have a girl that's just the same as yours. For the longest time I thought she was a boy because she grew so fast (biggest of all the babies), has thick legs, and comb was getting taller w/ small wattles around 6 weeks. But she's a pullet At least I really hope so! Lol Here...
She's pretty! what breed?? and how old? I'm leaning towards pullet since I don't see any red wattles just a prominent comb but its not super red, so thats a plus! :)
My guess would be a pullet but it could also be a late bloomer cockerel! Hard to say! My BCMs and others I've seen on here are fast growing and you usually know by 4-5weeks as the boys comb and wattles are pretty pronounced by then. But there's always still a chance! Time will tell :)
