Hi I got 5 hens and a rooster, there 14 weeks old. Im wondering when should the rooster crow, whats an average on this breed. And for the girls, how many weeks should it take to start laying eggs. Im just looking for a range For both of these.

Well today I got 6 red sexlink chickens, 5 pullets and 1 cockeral. There 3 months old each, the roo is white with a couple of brown spots and a light tan neck. All the girls look pretty much the same, they have reddish feathers with white one the back half of them. I watched them for a few hours...
The ones I looked at a little bit I think were darker then that. They have year old ones and look just like a partridge rocks. I can't remember if I saw any comb or what colors the legs were. The year old ones have no muffs or beard so Im not sure. Thanks for the help anyway.

Well I joined yesterday but have been workin on my chicken coop. It's 4 ft wide 8 ft long and the roof goes from 5 ft to 4 ft. Its a good size for a small coop, and i built it myself for under $200!!. Not to bad, just need the chickens. I have a few choices, around here. I can get what I think...
