She died; and I'll never know why because I didn't get a single response.

    Lethargic chicken

I also forgot to mention, yesterday she was running funny. She was kind of waddling like a penguin when trying to run, but could walk normally. Now she can't walk at all.

    Lethargic chicken

I have an almost one year old Orpington. She is very lethargic and seems to be shivering. She won't eat or drink anything. Although, I did manage to get her to drink some liquid vitamins. So we isolated her, and she just seems to want to sleep. I checked her crop, there doesn't seem to be...

    Sheep won't drink.

Maybe I didn't include enough information before. She is a Barbados black belly. I know she's lonely, as we haven't gotten the goats to keep her company yet. She's also probably shaken up from the trip and being alone for about a week before that. He didn't have any other sheep. She was in...

    Sheep won't drink.

Hi, I got a new sheep from my brother two days ago. We have plenty of food and water there for her, but she doesn't seem to be eating or drinking anything. So as far as I know, she hasn't had any water for about 48 hours, and I'm beginning to get really worried. Any suggestions or advice?

Do you still buy eggs from the stores ?

The dirty dozen are the ones you want to buy organic. The clean 15 are the ones that are ok to buy regular. Vinegar is a great cleaner. Baking soda is also a good cleaner.

Egg shell changes color in my hand

Most of them do too, but some stay that way after storing. I just checked and there is still one with the light spots.

Egg shell changes color in my hand

I don't actually wash the eggs. I'm just taking a dry softer scotch brite pad and getting rid of the excess dirt. The light spots seem like they're coming from the heat of my fingers.

    Hello from PA

We got our first flock this spring. We have black australorps, speckled sussex, barred plymouth rocks and a new hampshire red. I've been learning so much about chickens these past few months. This website has been very helpful along the way. I never thought it would be so much fun. Most of...

Egg shell changes color in my hand

Hi, I've noticed when I clean the eggs some of them will get lighter where my fingers were. You can see exactly where I've been holding it. We only have brown egg layers and it only happens on the lighter eggs. I was wondering if anyone knows what causes this, or has had this happen?
