Administering TYLAN Water Soluble Powder dosage to small flock

Thanks Kathy. The volume in the bag still doesn't add up. But I'm going to have faith that 1 teaspoon per gallon is correct. After 2 days of treatment my birds aren't dead from overdose so that's good. Thanks for your help!

Administering TYLAN Water Soluble Powder dosage to small flock

Hey all. Haven't been on BYC in awhile because we have an awesome local forum which usually suits my needs. But I came across this feed and thought I would ask your advise if I could. I have a flock of about 125 that have had respiratory crud for awhile. I tried duramycin for a few weeks since...

I filled one of the reservoirs and that kept the humidity around 35-38. I really attribute my success to the beautiful condition they arrived in. I highly recommend the lady I bought them from. Find her on eBay under blue water ranch. I got 5 batches since from other breeders and they were in...

Update on my BCMs in the 20...Okay it's day 24 and I think we're done. Last one hatched this morning and has a little prolapsed umbilicus. Seems healthy so far. We'll see if he makes it. So we have 11 out of 16 hatched. One pipped but I think has died. The remaining 4 have no pips. I'll leave...

THE Brinsea Octagon 20 Eco Thread; Hatches, etc. (PICS)

Oh my goodness my DH would have me committed as the crazy chicken lady if I got an Ova Easy. I also went to the Brinsea after disastrous results from a styrofoam incubator. I usually ran into trouble between lockdown and hatch. That's why I'm biting my nails at this point for my 16 perfectly...

Thanks for the information! From what I've read 100 degrees is still a comfortable range so I'd be good with trying that. Wish I wasn't starting out with such pricey eggs but that's how I roll I guess.

THE Brinsea Octagon 20 Eco Thread; Hatches, etc. (PICS)

I've enjoyed reading this thread and getting some good tips from you all. I got my first advanced 20 a month ago and just put my first batch of BCMs in lockdown yesterday. I'm a bundle of nerves. I finally got the humidity just right. I followed many recommendations (not necessarily specific to...

    Isbar thread

Hello Isbar people...I'm tickled pink that I have Isbar hatching eggs from 3 different sources on the way, due to arrive in a few days. 2 batches are from GGF new line stock. But the 3rd is from "Swedish reserve stock". I've googled the heck out of it but find nothing on Swedish reserve stock...

    Black Copper Marans discussion thread

Okay time to ask the experts again since Google has failed me. And thanks in advance for all the great advise you all provide! I have 4 different shipments of hatching eggs arriving this week (BCMs and Isbars...yay!). They will probably arrive Wednesday and Thursday. Is it better to hold the...

    Black Copper Marans discussion thread

I have them in the same set up as I have raised all my babies for years. I've tried reducing the numbers so they're less crowded. They have plenty of food and water. Nothing makes them happy. No wounds on anyone but so cranky with each other! Guess I just have angry babies. Oh well.

    Black Copper Marans discussion thread

Thanks for the great advice on summer coops! Another question...I bought some 4 week old blue copper Marans straight run chicks that came from north woods farms. They are not pecking each other to the point of wounds, but they are really aggressive to each other. Are Marans chicks known to be...

    Black Copper Marans discussion thread

Looking for some good advice from the experts out there. I have been keeping chickens for 5 years now. I've always done well selling my eggs, but this year I decided to take the plunge and start breeding my own babies. I'm in the process of building my breeding pens. I will have 4 total to...

    The Olive-Egger thread!

Thanks for the advice! I got my two beautiful EE Roos at a poultry swap and don't know their genetics. This will be my first attempt at incubating my own eggs so I hope my fertility rate is good. Wish me luck.
