I’m fairly new to chickens. I’ve had my flock for almost a year now. This is my second go around though. The first flock I had was completely wiped out by hawks. Hello again! Ok duck people help me out here. Last summer I bought two female supposedly pure welsh harlequin ducks and one femal Pekin. I have a male Pekin. I thought it would be fun to try and hatch some eggs so I put three eggs in an incubator (one from each duck) and all three ended up... -

Assuming that you said 4 weeks, that she's been sitting on them for 28 days. She most likely abandoned the nest because she felt threatened when you moved her. If you have an incubator I would try putting the eggs in there for a few days and see what happens I don't think the other adult ducks... -

Okay thanks! I'm fairly new to ducks is it okay to mix breeds like that? I read that saxonies are more broody so ducklings are more likely with them than pekins. But then it would be a mixed breed. Is that okay? Lol sorry i know thats kind of a dumb question. -
