    Maine flock gone

We live in Poland and still don't know what got the birds. We set up humane traps with food but never caught anything. (Food always got taken) -a little "sketchy".

UPDATE: My 9 week old barred rock is looking kind of "muffy". From my reading this is not normal for a barred rock. So can this be a cross with the Ameraucana? Her name is sweet pea. I do assume that she is a hen.

    Maine flock gone

It was early morning. They were let out of the coop where they stay at night. They free roam during the day. My husband heard this commotion but didn't see anything. The neighbor called and there were feathers in his yard. My husband never found 6 of the chickens. We suspected something since 2...

    Maine flock gone

I am so sorry for your loss. How dissappointing to lose them especially after relocating. I feel incredibly sad but most don't understand. "They're just chickens" To me they are precious.

    Maine flock gone

6 out of 10 gone. Unless you love chickens, others just don't understand. I am so sad. Piles of feathers but 6 birds not found. Our EE and our suspected Marans. Such beautiful birds gone. The live trap's empty but bait is also gone. Fischer cat? Raccoon? Such sadness.

That's great! I did wonder about the yellow legs. Are we agreed that he is a rooster? He is beautiful regardless!

UPDATE: Single comb 6 weeks old. I think is a rooster. But still wonder what type. Could he be a light sussex mix? The feathers around the neck are now looking buff.

UPDATE: The sweet farmer told me that this chicken has cochin and Ameracauna. Note the changed leg color. Does that make her/him an Easter Egger?

Hello, I just wanted to update the pictures of Hawkeye Esther Brown, my Easter Egger. She seems so different from all the others. She doesn't seem to have a rump or tail (or at least it points downward). Around her neck seems to be thicker almost like she has a lion's mane. Is that considered a...

My husband just told me that when he got this bird at a chicken swap the seller told him it would lay black eggs. So after research I have come to conclude it's probably a Maran's since the French version has feathered legs and some can be mostly black and they do lay very dark chocolate colored...

I got 8 different chicks from an ol' farmer down the road. He had all tbe eggs hatching together. His amazing beautiful birds were freely running around. So in conclusion, I have no idea of the "breeds" or cross X cross breeds. The feathered legs throw me off.

Hi! I have this precious little yellow fluff ball with feathered legs (1-2 weeks old). There is a blackened dot behind the right eye and a feather in one wing that is partially black. Sweet as can be. Can you identify? Thank you Giving me kisses!
