Hello, Maine Mom of 8 kids (real children not goats) needs help identifying some chickie babies. We are fairly new to this but have various age levels, "breeds" and now I imagine sexes. If you could please help that would be greatly appreciated. This is brownie or hawk-eye or Esther depending on who you ask. She/he is about 5 weeks old now but I have included a newborn picture. I would like to know the breed and sex. Thank-you. I have more to identify but we can start here. Tamara Thanks again

Thank-you everyone! I suspected she was an easter egger and I was hoping she was a female. We can't wait to see what colors of eggs she lays. I have more questions about other chicks. Should I start a new thread or continue here? Thanks again Tamara

You're very welcome, Tamara - that is part of the fun with EE, waiting to see what they produce.
Since you already have the thread started why not go ahead and post the rest of your flock so we can take a look for you?

Hello, I just wanted to update the pictures of Hawkeye Esther Brown, my Easter Egger. She seems so different from all the others. She doesn't seem to have a rump or tail (or at least it points downward). Around her neck seems to be thicker almost like she has a lion's mane. Is that considered a muff? I do understand that she is a mutt. And the feathers coming in around the neck seem to be pointy and I think she's beautiful. If in fact she is a she! Talk to me chicken lover friends!
