Thankyou!! I will wait till they are bigger...we have the youngsters behind a chain link fence...and one of the Barred Rock Babes relentlessly paces and, I believe, is saying mean things to them....so we will wait... But are you serious..will the barred rock babes really kill a youngster??????

I have three Barred Rock females, about 35 weeks old, just started laying eggs. We got 2 dominiques and one Silver lace Cochin about 10 weeks........... The barred rock babes are free range and go into the coop at night to be locked up. The three little ones...are in their separate area...

Well as I have said before, we bought chickenes for the most ............rude reasons...eggs and meat...we NEVER thought they would have a personality...NEVER thought that they were "individuals"...just...POULTRY...well..the bug has hit us...our barred rock rooster, Cogburn, the 4 girls .....Ms...

I and my husband are raising barred rocks....our first chickens, 4 girls and a handsome boy "cogburn"..now here is the question...will these hatch their own chicks? I cannot seem to get an answer as to whether they may make good parents or not..please advise!!! Should I get a differnt breed...
