I have a question as to how to sanitize my incubator. Was just wondering since I am really wanting to keep hatching for the excitement of watching them hatch and grow. Was told diluted bleach but wasn't sure.
hello all,
i first started trying to hatch eggs during the end of the last school season.
my first incubator i actually got of a web site that i choose not to mention.
i actually paid about twice what i could have gotten it in a local store, but
that is due to the payment agreement with that...
Well first i would like to say hello.
i tried the 9300 as my first incubator but had bad luck with it.
for me i think i was either trying too hard or it was too "hands on" for me.
we had only 1 egg hatch in it and unfortunately it passed away only 3 days later.
we now have a hovabator 1588...
Hello again everyone.
Good news as I was trying to collect the funds for the genisis 1588, my better half surprised me with the unit being delivered on this past Sunday.
I immediately opened it up and read everything in the instructions. Afterwards hooked it up put water in chanel two (missed...
Gonna have to wait to get a new setup.
I will have it eventually just not now.
On another note and a bit heartbreaking "Charlie" passed away last night.
It was the only one to hatch since I started trying out my hand at this hobby.
Not yet ready to give up yet though.
OK I know one of the teachers at the school I work at has one as well. I will look into one in my searches. At this point I'm looking into set it and forget it with my schedule being so mucked up might be best thought.
With as much trouble with this type of bator I'm thinking I will sell it and squire a better more idiot proof version. Been looking online and found some that have everything built in turners humidity alarm temp alarm etc...
not sure at this point. better half thinks between high 50's and mid 60's.
put in a sponge just a few moments ago and it started climbing up again.
was mid 80's nor low 90's.
yup left it and when it dried it seperated by itself.
now the sad news the second one that started to hatch stopped all signs of movement.
it pipped and later broke a little more of the hole away then stopped completely.
i let it stay for a few hours thinking it would regain strength and...
This is day 19 and we have our first hatched chick. Hope to have many more.
I do have a question about the chick/egg. It appears to be attached to the egg shell by tissue. Do I leave it attached or help detach them?
Thank you. We are having troubles with the heat. It is set on the unit at 106f and the hygrometer inside was last reading 100f while the other is reading 99f. Beginning to think maybe I should have researched into this hobby more. Lol
i feel like such an idiot i went back upstairs to look at the incubator again, and poof saw the indented areas in the bottom.
my better half made fun of my stupidity lol... anyway we are off to get the "new batch" wish me luck.
i am new to this and am wondering where are the "water channels" that you refer to?
this will be my second attempt first was a complete failure.
had 2 that formed into chicks but none survived.
i am using the 9300 with a forced air kit and just can't seem to get the humidity right.
thank you for...
