I live in Arkansas with my boyfriend of 7 years and our 6 house dogs, 1 house cat, 3 house rabbits and 15 outside chickens. In April we will be getting a Jersey Giant pullet chick, thanks to Gritsar. She will be a house chicken. I am very excited about this!!!
My bf and I are both vegetarians...
Actually I was planning on putting together a Chickenstock of sorts for AR but call it Poultry Fest so more than just chicken people would be interested. Would anyone be interested in that?
It was nice to meet those who came to CS.
Grace's call ducks were absolutely adorable! My bf tried to convince me we could keep a duck in the house in the bath tub (we have no pond) LoL

That would be me
Well Maw and I are getting everything done and CS is just day after tomorrow!!! Can we say "AWESOME'?!
I can't wait to meet everyone
I hate it when people type 'dat', 'de' and other forms of improper speach. I mean, really, is it so hard to type 'the' and 'that'? This also goes along with ebonics, something I could do without too LoL
As for ice cream trucks, ours plays 'Here we go 'round the Mulberry Bush' but I am like the...
As long as his 'stubs' are in good condition with no pain, I don't see why not, after all he must have a BIG will to live if he's gone on this long. I personally would keep him as an inside bird so he could have blankets or carpeting to ease any soreness.
If he is in pain you could give him...
Contact Farm Sanctuary, they may be able to take in some of the other animals. They are in Watkins Glen but I am sure transport could be arranged.
I wish I could take that roo, but I am sure he will be great company for you
Well Monday morning I will be starting my new job. I applied for Marketing Supervisor a few weeks ago and found out I got it last week. Its almost a 50% hourly pay increase, even though it is salary, so I can't complain
I also received 3 Conish X chicks from a factory farm today so helping...
Thanks for posting this. I will try to get in contact with this person...its always good to know fellow rescuers in other parts of the US. Plus it doesn't hurt to try to get them linked up with other rescues if they are ligitimate
I really like it and have used it for EVERYTHING! My mom got it for Xmas for me a few years ago and it has been so easy to use, clean up too. I would recommend it
Silkies are near-unique among chickens: both skin and bones are black.
Black skin is found in only silkies and some rare breeds - the Indonesian Ayam Cemani, the South American Black Quechua Olmec, and the Swedish Svart Höna.
The Black Sumatra and Rapanui breeds sometimes have black skin also...
Well I just got 3 Cornish X chicks-which will be pets not food and I was wondering the best way to turn my Layena pellets into crumbles. My local store does not carry Layena crumbles at the mill so I am going to have to figure out a way to make them chick sized without turning them to dust Lol...
I have a Silver Laced Cochin, also not laying so I can't help you there but she is a sweetie.
I will post some pix when my comp gets back from being worked on
Man my girls still haven't started yet, I have them on Layena now and nope...nothing LoL
I feed my checkens and dogs eggs regularly since I am allergic and Lucas can only eat so many LoL
