Over the last week I have noticed more and more bees around my feeders. My girls don't seem to be worried about them. How would I find the hive? I would be interested to see the hive but I would not want to disburb it.

My RIR started laying exactly at 22 weeks and 4 days (dec 19). I have had 16 eggs from 15 birds since. It's sooooo exciting to find those little treasures every day. They look so cute in the nest boxes. It shouldn't be long for your birds. Happy New Year!

Try some repel tactics. Soak some rolled up (long ways) rags in household ammonia and lay them around the area that is being destroyed in the late evening. The ammonia is a strong smell deterrent for most wildlife. As the rags dry the smell will go away. I would do this several nights...

I have 15 RIR that are 6 weeks old today. I have been leaving the lights(very low power patio string lights) on in the coop at night. They come into the coop on their own now. Is it OK to turn the lights off now when I "put them to bed"?
