Thanks for the answer. I was just thinking maybe someone started laying and it was their first egg. This is the first day we've had three eggs appear. 15 days into this laying things so very cool!

Girls just recently started laying (about26wks), I think there are three hens that appear to be ready but can't be certain all three are laying. In the last 15 days we've got 16 eggs plus, ?? this, Is this a fart (LOL) egg? middle bottom, soft as can be..... Please excuse the dirty.... one was...

It's just a play in the angle of the photo. She is one of the three largest girls I have. They were all 2 days old when I received them so I know she's 17 weeks old. That's also why I said she is much larger than the picture shows.

I thought I had better photos of her but can't find them. She is so much larger than this photo shows. The comb has just started turning a bit red in the last few days.

I think she's a she. However, I almost swear this bossy thing almost crowed today. 4months/1week old.

I'll actually keep two at least for now (I have 6 other chickens). I'd want her to have someone while she's young. Believe me he'll be in the picking process...my momma didn't raise no dummy!

Is there a way to determine if the hen will be a darker color? I know it's silly but I have 5 6 week babies. I can only keep one and hubby wanted a darker color hen. Since I bought them on his request I was trying to find out if I could better determine which would grow up more the color he...

At first I thought maybe it was ALLLLL the raisins the girls eat. I stopped for several days, hubby even noticed which hen was making the poop. No raisins for 2 days and this is from sometime since last night. She seem in fine health nothing visible and she is perky and alert. (Dk Brahma, 3 1/2...

She is beautiful, I picked her up at the breeders yesterday. The last one I bought from a hatchery ended up being an Easter Egger....so disappointed. Is the crossbeak very bad?
