Yesterday I noticed the feathers on the back. I was looking at houdan hen pictures, and none of them have those skinny long feathers. I'm so sad. Thank you for responding!
So I have this chicken that's about 12 weeks old, a Houdan, and I love this chicken. But, I'm thinking my Las Vegas Showgirl chicken is a drag queen. Am I wrong in thinking this is a rooster?
Actually this one would be Mary Ann. Ginger is a production red :) I can't keep roosters in my city. And now also I'm scared about my houdan, the Las Vegas Showgirl. I'm afraid Vegas is a drag queen! They are about 12 weeks old. We got 5 chicks on Nov. 22nd, two easter eggers, a production...

I have a silkie that I got when it was around a week old, that was November 22nd. This chick looks a lot younger than mine does, and mine is around 12 weeks.
Does this one look like a rooster? He/she is about 12 weeks old. I can't compare size because none of our other chicks are silkies, and this is the first one I've ever had. Thank you.
This is a silkie, approximately 12 weeks old. I'm just noticing the waddle development. So does it look like a hen or a rooster? I've not heard any crowing, in fact, all 5 of the chicks we got in November (including this one) still pretty much sound like chicks. Thank you!
Thank you! We do that anyway. We freeze big water bottles and put them inside the watering containers and refill them regularly, and we have a misting system and make sure there is shade there. Also we run fans to help with the air circulation. We got our first chickens last summer, right...
