I would get some safe guard liquid wormer for GOATS and give all birds 5cc every other day for 5 days and then wait 10 days after the last dose to eat the eggs. Discard all eggs laid during that time. Hope this helps.
My hens have swollen buts and red round sores around there vent. They have no feathers on there buts or belly. I am reall worried should I put them in my isolation area?
I'd go for the Tylan 200..
it's available in most farm/feed/livestock stores.
if you are unable to get the Tylan 200, there is Tylan 50..but the amount you'll need will be different.
you'll need syringes (the smallest you can find..1cc if possible), and 25 gauge needles. Give them 1\2 cc for 5...
You can probably get it at the vet or at orchlens or tractor supply. I would also buy plenty of 18 gauge 3/4 inch needles with syringes. Let me know if you need any thing else.
I would try an antibiotic like penicillin because it could very well be a bacterial infection. The dosage is .10ml per pound for 3 days in the breast alternating breast every day. Make sure you pull back on the plunger when you are in the breast to make sure you are not in the vain. Hope this...
Ok thanks. All of my chickens haven't laid for about 2 months and wondered if I find any more chickens with the same symptoms should I start antibiotics. If so what kind and how much should I give them.
Went to go feed my chickens today and there was one laying on the ground and she had a lot of poop around her vent. I don't know what would cause this.
I have a crazy hen that needs to be stitched up the towel over the head did not work and I will not take her to the vet because they don't see birds what over the counter fairly cheap meds can I use?
I would use 2 Popsicle sticks measure it to the right legenth and run it down both sides of her foot tape them on and then wrap it with some vet wrap or ace wrap. Let me know how she is doing.
I would wrap her wing with ace bandage and try to keep it from moving and keep her in the crate with electrolytes in her water and don't let her move around to much just keep her comfortable until you can get her to the vet you can also crush up one pill of aspirin and dilute it in one gallon of...
My vet sad that is not true she said because it has a high concentration because it is used for cattle it will work and kill most worms. I use it on mine and I have cured many birds that have worms very bad with it
Go to the vet and ask them for 10.00cc of ivomec injection and give every one .1 cc through the mouth you will also have to get a syringe and fill it to the .1cc mark do not inject even though it says to give it through the mouth. You can't really over dose because their body will just discard...
