Hi everyone,

we have 5 beautiful girls that roam our 1 acres property. They are our pets and we love them. My girl Charlie, just got hit by a car because she wondered onto the road. So I have picked her up, and she is inside in a crate being monitored. she is drinking and eating. with no visible injuries. although she is favouring 1 wing and won't walk, but is standing in 1 place. I don't know what to do or how to assess her injuries. Any suggestions? all vets are closed until monday and the emergency vet in the area doesn't deal with chickens.

Thank you!

I would wrap her wing with ace bandage and try to keep it from moving and keep her in the crate with electrolytes in her water and don't let her move around to much just keep her comfortable until you can get her to the vet you can also crush up one pill of aspirin and dilute it in one gallon of water

So heres the update, when I picked her up she fluttered both wings just fine. Wing is no longer being favoured. BUT I took her outside to see if she could walk and is hobbling on 1 leg. the other she can stand on but not walk on. So now i guess I have to figure out wether her leg is broken or foot? any suggestions on how to help a broken foot/leg?

I would use 2 Popsicle sticks measure it to the right legenth and run it down both sides of her foot tape them on and then wrap it with some vet wrap or ace wrap. Let me know how she is doing.
