bbhorsefly All my dogs have been exposed to chickens as puppies. Just like the cats they think their all part of the pack. This pic is probably 30 years old. Can't get much friendlier than this .

Took some new pics of my "flock" over the weekend. Had to post this pic of Dance my Mt. Cur (think of Old Yellar) protecting her flock. And see her reaction when another dog gets too near. Not to worry she's all bark and no bite .

If I were a betting man, which I am not, I'd bet you were right. But hope we're both wrong.

Thanks lilcrow. Don't suppose that you have any opinion on which commercial hatchery may have the best birds? Will keep watch on the Cochin International website and see if any thing comes up or maybe try to find some eggs next spring.

Dumb question from a Newbie. I'd like to breed Gold Laced Cochin bantams. Do I need a GL rooster and a GL hen to get GL chicks???
