I have a bantam rooster with mixed heritage. I believe he is 1/4 Silkie, and 3/4 Bantam Cochin. His comb is very interesting, a bit too spiked for me to clearly call it a pea comb, it doesn't seem very rose comb like to me either. Almost like a cushiony pea comb style, with 2 rows of spikes...
So, questions/thoughts on a non-standard sex-linked cross. You only ever read about Red sex-linked, Black sex-linked, Barred sex-linked, and feather sexing. I was playing around on Breedbook http://www.breedbook.org/?action=geneticscalculator&tab=CHICKEN

Well, I certainly hope tobe selling some. How soon depends on how many generations it takes me to cement that gene. Here's to hoping I get bearded offspring this winter!
I'm in Huntsville Texas. About 4 hours away. I can't make a trip that far, but if you ever make it to the Huntsville, Houston or College Station areas I could meet you!
Hope you find them a great home, if I can't help!
Back from the grave!
How has this quail done? Have you been able to reproduce or set the mutation?
I hatched an A&M with a similar tuft, and I hope to work with it in breeding. If you have managed to keep these genetics, I would love to swap some eggs with you.
For a quieter non-muscovy duck you may want to look at Cayugas. They still quack, mine are just quieter than the Welsh Harlequins, almost deeper and more hoarse sounding.
