Hello,
I just wanted to share my story and experience. My 5 month old Americauna got bullied so badly by my 10 month old flock. As you can see they severely injured her head. I brought her to an ER where they partially sowed her up and gave be antibiotics and pain meds. They gave me a 50/50...
hello!
I think i have a black copper Maran roo on my hands. He’s sweet but i already have a rooster which technically am not suppose to have. Anyone know of a farm or a person in CT that will accept this beautiful roo?
I dunno about that. He barely weighs 1 lb.
Ive has him for over a year and hasn’t done a thing. He’s recently lost 2 girls that were always around him.
It’s a silkie, the roosters are more docile than other roosters.
I have a Black silkie Rooster by accident last year and decided to keep it even though they are not allowed in my town. I love his big eyes and he’s quite a sweetheart. This has been my only rooster so I’m pretty new with their quirky behaviors. He loves being around me and even stops crowing...
Thanks for the advice.
I’ve always had 1 temp water. Little cooler than room temp. I refill it numerous times a day when i see it gets dirty. I think the humidity is the worst. It gets tropical like.
They are housed separately at night but during the day they free range but they love to stick to their cliques. When they are in my basement, which is estimated 1 or 2 nights every month during 4 summer months, they are also put seperately in divided caged rooms. None of them fight with...
Sorry this is a long post. I have 2 separate cliques with my chickens. 1 alpha Orpington that is the oldest of all of them at 3 that is paired with 3 Easter Eggers that are 2. The other clique are all one and it was a Silkie rooster, polish and a mix lakenvelder and ameracauna.
2 weeks ago, it...
I’ve been a customer of Clark farm for 3 years and I never had a problem. Yes their customer service is different. They don’t respond saying they got your order and your often wondering when you will get your birds. Makes me think that they are just introverts that love their chickens and wanted...
Funny. I have a quail that’s not laying too. I have cortunix and got them all at the same age. All but this one female is not laying. I know, cuz she’s separated with another male. Can it be just infertile?
No. That’s why I’m completely bugged out. I was wondering maybe it just stayed in the ovaduct too long. Since it’s her first egg. I’ve heard they can get much darker that way. I’ll see if her second egg comes out that way.
so i got 3 new chickens over the summer. 1 silkie, 1 Polish and 1 lakenvelder. Silkie turned out to be a rooster, and the lakenvelder (which i learned a couple months later) is mixed with an Ameracauna.
Now i thought my lakenvelder mix laid her first egg s month and a half ago. It’s pinky light...
