    Introducing new pullets

Ok so I tried to fence the babies inside the pen so they could see each other but not touch each other. The hen ran directly up to chicks and began to flap and peck through the wire. The rooster then attacked the hen . The rooster is super weird about flapping, if the ducks or the other...

    Introducing new pullets

So I know there is a lot about introducing new ladies to your flock but I have 16 babies that are about 5 weeks and they are fully feathered and I would like them to go outside but I have my concerns. I have a silkie rooster and a bantam hen already, and they aren't too excited about the new...

    What's wrong with my chick?

Ok so there are a few things here A) is It your only chick? It may be depressed. Chickens are flock animals after all. B) it may be dehydrated. Try electrolytes In the water. She looks like a normal chick and she doesnt stand upright anymore. Still don't know what she is though

Update: I gave her some electrolytes with an eye dropper and encouraged her to eat and she is no longer lethargic (I think she may have been dehydrated). Secondly, she is smaller than the rest of the chicks but she holds her own. Her legs aren't locked ( i will give it to you, they looked like...

    Funny standing chick

She runs around like the other chicks... She was sleeping when I got her to take the picture (she doesn't always act like that) . But she runs, jumps, eats and drinks. But I'll still give her some electrolytes... Atleast maybe it will give them some energy back from their long voyage

    Funny standing chick

I just got my twelve new Chickies from ideal hatchery (the heavy pullets) and this little guy was in there... she stands straight up like a runner duck and she sleeps ALL THE TIME. She seems healthy just a little different. I named her Norma. It's kinda hard to tell because she is leaning on my hand

What is the best nesting material for boxes?

I don't believe that dryer lent would be good to use. The dust can be bad, the little paper shreds can be of possible interest to them and the hairs and threads that make up the lent are not something that would be good for your clucky ones
