    I have to talk POLISH!

Polish are not bred to be sexed by their wing feathers. Not all chickens are.

    I have to talk POLISH!

Thank you. :) I was lucky enough that Dave Anderson chose to let me take over his line when he decided to no longer work with bantam silver laced. I did add a roo from another line to bring in the frizzle gene. The offspring has been wonderful this year. I'm super excited about it.

    My Handmade 2 Story Brooder

It's 4 feet wide, 2.5 feet deep. In the summer they move out to the grow out pen pretty quickly because it's so hot where we live. They aren't usually in there linger than 6 weeks. It depends on the weather and how many I am hatching. I have 2 fully enclosed grow out pens outside that they stay...

    My Handmade 2 Story Brooder

It is working really well. I still love it and use it year round. The only thing I would do differently would be to maybe put some sort of plastic barrier at the bottom half of the doors to keep the shavings from falling out . And the cat still really enjoys it as well. ;)

CSU - Chicken State University- Large Fowl SOP

It is very normal for feathers to come in all white as they age. I found great improvements were made when using a larger male with great type/color/crest size over females with good lacing. It improved the size in the offspring, the lacing, and the overall size of the birds. BUT. I am so...

CSU - Chicken State University- Large Fowl SOP

Crests can be taped up to keep them out of their faces. A larger crest is preferred in showing normally. I haven't had a problem with the shape of the larger crests. I am looking to improve the fullness and proper color (less color in the WC varieties) in the crests of my bantam polish. LOL...

CSU - Chicken State University- Large Fowl SOP

My first suggestion in correcting the colors would be to separate your birds and breed colors that are supposed to go together. Otherwise you will always have mixed up non standard colors. Breed with a purpose not just randomly if you are looking to improve. Cull and cull hard. (that does not...

Thank you so much everyone for the compliments. I will be taking a couple of these girls to the show in Paso Robles in 2 weeks. I'm excited to see how they do. I normally only show my bantam polish and runner ducks. One hint when showing Polish- always check the feet for stubs. Little itty...
